There are many reasons to consider use of a holographic ID card overlay. Transparent overlays enhance the security of the ID card. Since they are applied over the ID card, they help to prevent alterations made to the ID card. They also help prevent against copying and duplicating the card. Lastly, they extend the life of the card by protecting against wear and abrasions. The holograms sold here are made for the standard CR-80 (2.125" x 3.375") ID card. The full spectrum hologram image can only be seen at certain viewing angles, which allows visibility of the underlying ID card information. Each overlay is constructed in two layers. The first layer is a base polyester film which is 1 mil thick. After the transparent holographic foil imprint is applied and then laminated with an additional layer of 1 mil thick polyester film for increased durability. The total thickness of each overlay is 2 mils. Each hologram is peel and stick format and are manually applied by hand to the surface of the butterfly pouch.
